Windows Seven
System Upgrade66gixer writes "Do you love Vista? You need to try Seven! Any of you running the 7 beta? I have just installed it on all three of my laptops and it is fantastic, I've had several system crashes...AVG on an upgraded system is a pain but ok on a fresh install. VNC seems reluctant to run and a couple of other little quirks but as this is a beta it's to be expected......

There are some really good alterations from the vista layout, menus and submenus are banished for all the regularly used items, no more hunting for your settings. Right clicking is really well used as is previewing. There are some nice little touches when viewing many windows, dragging a window to the edge of the screen "docks" it and allows side-by-side viewing, a poor mans Commander if you like. one of the best features has to be the "homegroup" settings when on a network. Simply start a homegroup with one of your machines and all other machines find it, put in the alloted passcode and they are all visible, there are some options for advanced users if you are a tinkerer but anyone could get it working...even me! Seven seems to be compatible with all types of machines, I have installed it on a 17" gateway laptop ( reasonable spec ) a 15" basic laptop ( basic spec ) and a Samsung NC10 netbook ( very basic spec ). It actually uses less system resources than vista on all of them....at least for now. I will try to get back here and update things as and when I find the little bugs. I think it runs in beta till August, I am sure it will over run by a few months if the previous releases are anything to go by. Happy testing, Paul."

Thanks for the heads-up Paul. Sounds like it could be pretty good :)

Been using Vista for sometime now, was really impressed I actually bought the Ultimate version!

I hear Windows 7 is supposed the OS that Vista never was. Having said that I remember them saying that Vista was the OS that XP never was, so it's probably just a worn-out PR ploy!! Lol!!

Hope you're good mate :)
