Sat(an)Nav
News66gixer writes "Hello everyone, I am sure most of you use some form of SatNav, they have become almost essential these days. I know some people think they are the spawn of the devil but they really do assist those who have the joy of the M25 etc.

Anyway, the reason for this little bit of news is to ask you all what you think is the best device and software. I recently bought the latest tomtom 530t, great unit and some nice features. I also recently found out that those of you who use a phone or pda as your satnav can have a shiny new version of tomtom for your device.....tomtom 7! Now, you may wonder, why has Paul bothered to type this out? Well, it is bloody brilliant. If you liked tomtom 6, you are gonna love 7 and if you get the newest tomtom device, tomtom 8! One of my biggest issues with these devices and software packages is the time it takes to do anything, I have almost been where I want to go before the unit is running!!!! Well tomtom obviously knew this and did something about it, the new versions start, work and stop almost instantly. I have tried a couple of other sytems, mainly Igo8 which is very nice but is unreliable and can be quite slow to respond. Navigon is another really nice bit of software, looks really classy and is quick at recalculating. Anyway, enough waffle...let's hear what you all think about SatNav."

My new tomtom530t failed the Londo test today. It was rubbish, terrible routing, no traffic reporting and then the sound went! Arrrrgggggghhhhhh, will anyone ever make a decent SatNav?
